Superstition Ridgeline
The Superstitions rise abruptly from the desert, a broken wall of volcanic rock with very little interest in making passage easy. Along the ridge, the country opens in every direction: deep drainages below, sharp summits ahead, and basin after basin fading into the distance.
This is the January 2009 journey, gathered in photographs. A day spent following the high ground, working through the rock, and watching the desert change with every turn.
